Transcript: Sarah Bourne Makes the Business Case for Implementing Accessible Technology
PEAT asked Sarah Bourne, Director of IT Accessibility at the Massachusetts State CIO Office: “If you were riding in an elevator with a Fortune 500 CEO, what’s your pitch for why implementing accessible technology matters?”
Bourne: Well, if I were in a situation where I could make a pitch to a Fortune 500 CEO riding an elevator with them, I would make sure that they knew that accessible technology is not about be nice to the blind or anything like that, that it results in better products for everybody. It means products that are more flexible and can be used by more people in more situations, which means it’s a more marketable product.
