Transcript: Bobby Silverstein on Policy Actions to Increase the Use of Accessible Technology in the Workplace

PEAT asked Bobby Silverstein, Principal at Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville: “If you were President for the day, what specific policy action would you promote or change to increase the use of accessible technologies in the workplace?”

Silverstein: If I were President for the day, I would direct the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, EEOC, to issue a clear policy statement that equal employment opportunity under Title 1 of the Americans with Disabilities Act includes the obligation to make all information and communication technology accessible, and I would direct EEOC to use the standards for what constitutes accessibility issued by the Access Board, or WCAG 2.0, and compliance at the AA level.
