The Future of Accessible Work: Trends, Technology and Policy
Tuesday, June 12, 11am, Studio E
The world of work is changing. As many as 1 in 5 workers now make up the "gig economy," and an increasing number of employees are working remotely, either part or full time, relying on multiple technologies to stay connected to their employers, clients, and/or collaborators. Workplace technology is also changing, with live video, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) now entering the workplace. This session will explore how these emerging technologies and workplace practices will impact employment for persons with disabilities and older adults.
- Introduction: Chris M. Law, Ph.D., President, Accessibility Track Consulting LLC
- Speaker: Josh Christianson, Project Director, Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT)
- Co-Speaker: Jutta Treviranus, Professor, Director and Founder, Inclusive Design Research Centre (IDRC), OCAD University
